Use Reachant with AI: Claude, Cursor and Claude Code (MCP)

Before you start

You need three things

A Reachant account with a verified email. Create a free account.
uv installed on your computer. It downloads and runs the connector. Installing uv is one command.
A client that supports MCP: Claude Desktop, Claude Code or Cursor.

MCP is the open protocol that lets an AI assistant use external tools. Reachant's connector, reachant-mcp, is a public package that runs on your machine and talks to your account with your key.

Step by step

Three steps, once

Generate your key

In the app, open Settings → Integrations, name the key (for example, "Claude") and click Generate key. It starts with rk_.

The key is shown only once. Copy it right away. If you lose it, revoke it and generate another. Each account can hold up to 5 active keys.

Paste the configuration into your client

Replace REACHANT_API_KEY with the key you copied. Then restart the client.

Claude Desktop

Open Settings → Developer → Edit Config. That opens the claude_desktop_config.json file. Paste this inside it:

In the terminal, one command registers the connector:

Ask the first question

Ask the assistant: "What is my Reachant balance?" If it answers with your plan and your remaining leads and credits, you are connected.

The first time, uvx downloads the connector, which can take a few seconds.

How a search works

Estimate, confirm, run

A search spends leads and credits from your plan, so the assistant cannot run one directly. The flow has three parts and only the last one costs anything.

Estimate

The assistant validates the categories and location and gets back how many leads will be granted, how many credits they cost, and warnings such as a low balance.

2 · you

Confirmation

It shows you the numbers and asks. The search only proceeds with your explicit yes.

3 · spends

Run

The estimate becomes a single-use token valid for 15 minutes. Repeating the request never charges twice.

What you pay

Leads: every business found uses one lead from your cycle. Ask for 200 with 40 left and the search brings 40, and the assistant tells you so.
Credits: enriching each lead (website, email, owners, decision maker) uses credits. If credits run out midway, the remaining leads keep their basic data and the assistant says so.
No money figures enter the conversation. Only plan leads and credits.

Limits and timing

Up to 5 categories per search. Leads are split evenly across them: 40 leads over 4 categories means 10 each.
Up to 200 leads per request, always capped at your balance.
Basic data (name, phone, address) appears within about a minute. Enrichment runs next and takes a few minutes. You can list leads while it happens.
The CSV comes as a link valid for one hour. The assistant hands you the link; you click it.

The nine tools

What the assistant can do

You never need to remember a name. These are the commands the assistant picks on its own from what you ask. Only one of them spends.

Example requests

Talk the way you would to a person

I want 50 aesthetic clinics in Miami.
Find 100 accounting firms in Austin, Texas.
How is yesterday's search doing? Is it done?
Show me only the leads that have an email.
Who is the decision maker at the third company on the list?
Export this list as CSV.

Tip: ask for the whole segment, not a single word. "Dentists" usually yields more leads when the assistant includes orthodontics, endodontics and implants, and the estimate shows the cost first.

Common errors

When something does not work

Missing or invalid API keyThe key is wrong, incomplete or was revoked. Generate a new one in Settings → Integrations and update the client configuration.
Email verification requiredYour account has not confirmed its email yet. Open the link we sent or request a new one in the app.
subscription_inactiveThe account cannot search right now: subscription pending or suspended. See Settings → Plan in the app.
quota_exhaustedThis cycle's leads are used up. They come back next cycle, or sooner with an upgrade.
token_expiredMore than 15 minutes passed between the estimate and the confirmation. Ask for a new estimate.
credits_lowA warning, not an error: the search runs, but some leads stay unenriched because the credits do not cover all of them.
uvx: command not founduv is not installed, or the client was opened before the install. Install uv and restart Claude or Cursor.
The server does not show upCheck that the JSON is valid (commas and braces) and that the client was restarted after saving.

Security

What the key can and cannot do

The key gives access only to your account: leads, searches and balance. It cannot change your plan, billing or account details.
We store only a cryptographic digest of the key. Nobody, not even support, can read a key after it is generated.
You can revoke any key at any time in Settings → Integrations. Clients using that key stop immediately.
No search runs without your confirmation in the conversation. The estimate is free and the run token works once.
Treat the key like a password: do not share it or paste it into chats. The configuration file lives only on your computer.
